Batch writing isn’t just the practice of writing multiple blog posts at one time. It’s also doing everything to promote your blog all at once… creating pinnable images, scheduling everything on Tailwind, creating strong SEO keywords, etc. And then simply scheduling those posts out for later dates.
When I first started my blog, I naturally fell into the habit on batch writing because I had read that most successful bloggers recommend that you have at least 10 blog posts on your site before you launch. So I just wrote all ten posts at one time, edited all ten at one time, promoted all ten. You get the idea.
And then I kept doing it, so that the posts that were being released had been written almost a month earlier. (With the exception being income reports, of course). Batch writing was great! Not only did it make the whole process of blogging much more streamlined, it also freed up my schedule to do other things to grow my blog.
But then, it happened. My batch day came and went. I didn’t write anything, and a few weeks later, I suddenly found myself without any posts scheduled. I then had to begin writing posts the day they were supposed to go out. Let me tell you. The difference between batch writing and writing on demand was night and day. Talk about the stress of writing something and knowing you are going to click, “Publish” minutes later! The experience taught me that I am definitely a batch writing kind of girl. But here’s the thing, you may be too.

Here are three reasons why you should give batch writing a try:
Batch writing allows you to have integrated content
Sure you have a niche, and hopefully, you always write for that niche. But when you are batch writing, you are able to see, even more clearly, the big picture. It is way easier to create blog series. And if you write about several different topics, it becomes easier to ensure that you have covered all of them within a certain period of time. For instance, I write about natural parenting, healthy living, and well, blogging. With batch writing, I know that I have posts about all of those subjects in a given month instead of 20 articles about breastfeeding .
Batch writing allows you to have awesome content
It is so much easier to have quality content when you are batch writing. That’s because you can go back and edit your drafts before they are officially published. I have made typos on this blog, and I know I will continue to, but it really gets me when I am reading someone else’s blog, and it’s clear that they haven’t proof-read. AT ALL. Call me a stickler for grammar if you want, but it’s important. Once your post is out there, it’s out there. It’s better to make sure something is well-written, well researched, and well-thought-out before publishing it for the entire world to see.
Batch writing allows you to have content… period
There is nothing worse than having a blog schedule that your readers count on and then deviating from that schedule. I personally post at least twice a week, sometimes three, but I recently became sick. Not having something ready to automatically go out was upsetting, and there was no way I could sit down and write something. I so sick that I’m not even sure I made sense when I talked! Important lesson learned! Because the reality is that stuff like this happens all the time. You get sick. Someone dies. You go on vacation. And sometimes you just want to snuggle up with your significant other and a glass of wine instead of sitting on the bathroom floor quietly working while your daughter is asleep.

You didn’t know that the bathroom floor was my office? Welcome to mom life!
Anyway, those are my three reasons for why you should give batch writing a shot! And now I want to hear from you! What have you do to streamline your blogging process?
