Some people are year-around lotion wearers, and other people only wear lotion during the colder months when they absolutely have to. I know. Over the years, I have found myself waffling between camps. Regardless of which camp you fall into though, now that Fall is upon us, there is probably a good chance that you are either getting ready for lotion season or in the market for a denser cream. So let me help by presenting you with five amazing, all-natural, DIY lotions.
Why should you use an all-natural, DIY lotion you might ask? Well, because our skin is not only our body’s largest organ but also able to absorb whatever we put on it in a matter of minutes. Don’t believe me? Think about motion-sickness or nicotine bandages work. You simply stick them to your skin, and voila! you soon feel the effects of the bandage. Unfortunately, your body isn’t able to differentiate between nicotine bandages and toxic skincare products, absorbing the things it should and not absorbing the things it shouldn’t. Rather, your skin absorbs EVERYTHING.
So consider playing it safe by only using all-natural products, and what better way to really control what you are using than by making your own all-natural, DIY lotion.
Silky Smooth Homemade Lotion
This is a fantastic lotion that incorporates beeswax. I personally LOVE lotions with beeswax in them because it creates a barrier on the skin, much like paraffin. So if you are looking for a long-lasting lotion, you need to check this one out!

Rose Cardamom Body Lotion
Okay, there are a lot of ingredients to this lotion. So I get that it might not be for everyone or be the easiest DIY project in the world, but if you are looking for an amazing lotion that goes from liquid to powder, then this is it! It might take a little more time, but it’s completely worth it.

Oatmeal Honey Shea Butter Lotion
If you were to say to me, “Name the most comforting scents on earth,” do you know what I would say? Oatmeal, honey, and almond, and this lotion has all three of those going on! Sigh! It is like heaven in a jar.

Best Homemade Lotion
I know many skincare DIYers that cannot live without coconut oil. If that describes you, then you’ll love this homemade lotion. Keep in mind though, that while Dena recommends using lavender essential oil, it is only a suggestion. You can fragrance your lotion with whatever essential oil you wish. Or, you can leave it completely fragrance-free.

While some people looooove the feeling of lotion on their skin. Other people can’t stand it. If that’s you, but you still need to maintain the moisture of your skin, then you’ll love this super non-greasy recipe. Remember to keep it refrigerated though!
