Hi, Friend! It’s me, Millason. Otherwise, known as Simply Natural Mama around these parts. I am so glad that you decided to stop by and spend some time with me! There are many things that I care deeply about, so I decided to write about all of them of this blog: my family, living a healthy life, working on beauty (especially with DIY products!), and enjoying life to the fullest. I hope that you enjoy what you read and decide to make me a small little part of your regular world.
And now, here’s just a little bit more about me. Actually, seven more things:
1.) My husband, Erik, and I have been married for eleven years.
We met each other in graduate school. We got married the day after I graduated (yes, it was crazy!). Most of the time I can’t believe that we have been married that long. What’s that saying, again? “Time flies when you are having fun!”
2.) I am fiercely loyal.
I have had the same best friend for 27 years now. Her name is Melissa, and she is a wonderful person. She really rocks that whole inner beauty/outer beauty thing.
3.) Speaking of inner beauty, you know who doesn’t rock it?
Our cat, Lucille. We have had her for nine years. She is definitely a part of our family and was our first “baby.” But man, she has a heart of ice.
4.) I love mysteries.
When I was little, my parents extended by bedtime on Sunday evenings so I could stay up and watch the end of Murder, She Wrote. When I was in high school, I would watch repeats of Matlock during the summer months. As a little kid and even now, I will sometimes suddenly get the urge to sit down and read an entire series. Nancy Drew, Agatha Christie, Janet Evanovich, Erle Stanley Gardner, Raymond Chandler,… you name it.
5.) I can’t sing. AT ALL.
Growing up, my parents would tell me to “keep up the dancing lessons” every time I sang. It’s pretty terrible. So terrible, in fact, that a couple of years ago my co-worker and I got together and recorded a holiday album as a gag gift. Our group’s name? Voices from Heaven.
6.) I am quirky.
I have to be covered up by a blanket if I am curled up on the sofa or lying down. It doesn’t matter how hot it is. I will only load/unload the dishwasher if I am about to change clothes (I don’t like dirty water splashed on me). I will only drink out of a to-go cup if I have a straw. You know, normal stuff.
7.) Our daughter is the answer to our prayers.
She is just called J on the internet, but Erik and I knew we wanted a little girl (and had her first name already picked out) back while we were still dating. The day we cut open our gender reveal cake we were in shock. We both wanted a little girl so bad that we thought there was no way it was going to happen, but God decided to bless us with one!
There you have it! Seven things you didn’t know about me.
I hope that you will continue to look around. There are several sections that might interest you: Parenting, Healthy Living, Essential Oils, and Blogging.
