Essential Oils

Before we dive into the recipes, let’s take a minute to talk about essential oils and something you should know.

If you have ever enjoyed the scent of a fresh orange than you have experienced the aromatic qualities of essential oils. These are naturally occurring, volatile aromatic compounds that are found in seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants. They can be beautifully and powerfully fragrant.

Essential oils are what give plants their distinctive smells, protect plants, and play a roll in plant pollination.

In addition to their intrinsic benefits to plants and being beautifully fragrant to people, essential oils have long been used for food preparation, beauty treatment, and healthcare practices.

So Essential Oils:
• Are naturally occurring, volatile aromatic compounds;
• Are found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants;
• Protect plants against environmental threats and provide beneficial properties;
• Are highly concentrated when distilled for purity, potency, and efficacy;
• Have been used historically for food preparation, beauty treatment, and health-care practices.

Essential oils are great for CLEANING. You can also experience the many benefits of Essential Oils by using them to support overall health.

Here are the three ways to use them:

AROMATICALLY
• Essential oils, when diffused or inhaled, can be very stimulating, calming, or soothing. Diffusing Essential Oils can also cleanse and purify the air.

TOPICALLY
• Essential oils can be safely applied for massage or topical therapy.
• Their chemical structure enables them to pass through skin for an immediate systemic response.

Thirty seconds to get into your bloodstream – Thirty minutes to get through your entire body.
INTERNALLY
• Certain Essential Oils have a rich culinary history and can be used as dietary supplements for targeted wellness.

So you want to use Essential Oils to clean your home.

Put away your surgical masks and rubber gloves.

Cleaning just got a whole lot more fun!
It is all about little steps! Pick a recipe to start with and try it out. See how you like it.

The Power of Essential Oils Aromatically

One of the most well-studied areas of aroma research is the effect of smell on emotions and mood.
For example, there is convincing evidence demonstrating that simply inhaling the aroma of an essential oil is effective for calming nervous or anxious feelings in a variety of settings.
The smell receptors located on the upper surface of the nasal cavity make direct links with the limbic system of the brain, an area that governs the body’s emotional responses.
This close connection between aroma and emotion becomes obvious in our everyday life as certain odors trigger memories or specific feelings. Some aromas directly impact mood (for example calming, balancing, or invigorating), while others trigger memories of a specific experience, often one tied to a strong emotion.
Intriguing new research has also helped us recognize that the benefits of aroma extend far beyond just emotional regulation.
In addition to influencing the limbic region of the brain, olfactory centers are also intricately linked with the hypothalamus, an area of the brain more familiarly nicknamed the “visceral control center” because it controls physiologic functions throughout the body. The hypothalamus exerts its powerful influence by interacting directly with the pituitary gland, or “master gland,” a small gland located in the brain.
The pituitary gland secretes hormones involved in the regulation of blood pressure, hunger and thirst signals, thyroid function, sleep cycles, production of sexual hormones, and memory, among other things.
Because of the direct link of the olfactory system to this area of the brain, aroma is capable of interacting directly with the hypothalamus, influencing neurochemistry throughout the body, and, in turn, potentiating powerful health outcomes.
There are many acceptable ways to use Essential Oils for their aromatic properties. One method is to diffuse the oil into the air. Not only does diffusion make the oil accessible to the body, but research indicates that there are also air purification benefits when diffusing oils.
When diffusing oils, use of cold air or hydro diffusion is best because burning or heating Essential Oils can ALTER their delicate chemistry. If a diffuser is not available, simply dropping Essential Oils into the palm of the hand and then cupping around the nose and breathing deeply is a convenient method for using Essential Oils at any time, in any situation.
We have walked through the basic oils that would be a great addition to your cleaning closet. Let’s talk about how to get started!
I want you to get the best value for Essential Oils. You can save 25% on every purchase by having your own wholesale membership!
A Wholesale Membership is like Sam’s or COSTCO: you pay a flat fee of $35 for the year. Whenever you need an Essential Oil, you can order it right from your own account. You can even qualify for more savings (10-30%) as a member.
Besides the annual fee, there is only ONE requirement for your wholesale membership. You must purchase ONE item every year (no matter how big or small) to remain active. As a gift, at the end of your first year of membership, when you renew for $25, you will receive a free bottle of peppermint essential oil! (a $27 value).
If you plan on purchasing more than one oil for your family, then buying at wholesale would be your best option.

There is a member rewards program that you can participate in if you would like to earn oils for FREE.

When you purchase oils each month, you can earn up to 30% back in points to use for free oils.

Isn’t that AMAZING?

You can message me after the class to learn more about enrolling in this rewards program. Now, if you are anything like me and you want ALL the oils, but your pocketbook says that you need to take it slow then this might be the best option for you!

Making Essential Oils Cleaning recipes not only helps to create a safe environment for you or your family, but it also is more affordable than buying from the store.
You can buy a pure and potent Essential Oil that only requires a few drops to create these amazing cleaning recipes.
It is amazing how inexpensive Essential Oils are when you break it down. Most of our bottles are 15ml. These bottles contain 250+ drops.
Let’s say you want to use 2 drops of Lavender Essential Oil to help freshen your dryer balls. You only spent $0.16 for multiple loads.
To make the kitchen cleaner, you are looking at a total cost of $.80 for Melaleuca and $1.04 for the Protective Blend in your entire 16oz. bottle! That’s what I call savings!
PENNIES for EACH USE!
